UP CM Yogi Adityanath to launch ‘School Chalo Abhiyan’ on Monday | Education

To ensure 100% enrollment in primary and upper primary schools in Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will launch the ‘Chalo Abhiyan School’ in Shravasti district on Monday.

It will be an effort by the state government to shape the future of primary education and the holistic development of primary schools, said an official statement posted here.

The chief minister has instructed officials to prioritize districts with low literacy rates and provide primary schools in the state with better facilities, he said.

“Chalo Abhiyan School” is launched in Shravasti district, which has the lowest literacy rate in the state, followed by Bahraich, Balrampur, Badaun and Rampur, according to the statement.

Public schools must meet all the objectives of “Operation Kayakalp”, which aims to give schools a facelift, Adityanath said.

He told the officials that not only will the public representatives be associated with the “Chalo Abhiyan school”, but the deputies must also adopt one school each, according to the statement.

In addition to this, officials should also adopt schools for their holistic development, the chief minister said.

Adityanath also ordered that all public schools provide students with basic facilities such as toilets, clean water, furniture and smart lessons.

Department officials must lead a campaign to collaborate with alumni (of public schools) and private companies for the transformation of public schools, he said.

Instructions were also given to the basic education department to prepare for the abhiyan and ensure the deployment of teachers to all public schools, Adityanath said.

Students will receive uniforms, shoes and socks as part of the campaign, the statement said.
