Udupi, August 20: GM Vidyaniketan Public School and GM Global School jointly celebrated the 75th Independence Day Amrita Mahotsav at GM Campus, Brahmavar Harady on August 15 with patriotic fervor and performances of national songs.
Shivaprakash S, who is part of the Border Security Force of India, was the chief guest of the event. He raised the flag and received the cadet honor guard.
He said: “Since serving at the BSF, I have not been able to participate in many family functions. But today I am fortunate to have participated in the Amrit Mahotsava program. Students should not forget patriotism when going to a foreign country for the best job.A large number of young people from Dakshina Kannada, Udupi district are expected to join the army.
Principal of the school Brahmachari KN explained the significance of this day. “Love for country and patriotic feeling must be present in blood, mind and soul,” he said.
Pranav Shetty, the school principal, said, “We are all happy today because of the sacrifice of the freedom fighters. We must remember them. Today, we have the responsibility to build a prosperous country.
Medha, Vidya Prajna and Shriddha school teams, world team scout and guide cadets participated last march, performances of patriotic songs, dance, skits created a sense of patriotism among the people.
Prakashchandra Shetty, chairman of the school board, wished a happy Independence Day and took the oath saying, “Today is a moment of money because all the students from the first grade to the 10 participate. Everyone should follow the duty as well as the rights given by the Constitution. Today, we all used the national flag. We must keep it with respect. We must know the importance of the tricolor and know how to respect the national flag. He said that the values of the freedom fighters must be followed.
