Ondo State provided its counterpart fund of 715 million Naira to receive the intervention fund of the Universal Basic Education Commission of 1.430 billion Naira.
The permanent secretary of the State Council for Universal Basic Education, Mr. Dele Akinagbe, revealed this Friday in Akure, the state capital.
Akinagbe said the board will spend 1.430 billion naira on renovating and constructing classrooms as well as providing educational materials for public primary schools in the state.
He listed other projects that will be funded with the N1.430bn to include the construction of classrooms, the construction of wooden classrooms in riparian areas, the renovation of classrooms and the provision of furniture for students. teachers and students, among others.
He said: “Ondo SUBEB has been able to make an impact on students through the provision of educational materials needed to make schools conducive to learning.
“The state has disbursed its counterpart fund of 715 million naira to receive the intervention fund of the Commission for Universal Basic Education of 1.430 billion naira.”
