Northern Light Blue Hill, Maine Coast hospitals update COVID-19 testing procedures

ELLSWORTH and BLUE HILL – Northern Light Blue Hill and Maine Coast hospitals will change the COVID-19 testing process starting Friday, September 10.

Maine Coast Hospital reopens its test building in the parking lot in front of the hospital at 50 Union Street, Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and Blue Hill Hospital use the trial building on their campus Monday through Friday, 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The test is available for those who are symptomatic or asymptomatic with exposure. More information on COVID-19 testing is available at: COVID-19 – Northern Light Health.

Tests are available by appointment only and will include a self-swab test; staff will not stamp patients (and parents will need to stamp their children.) To make an appointment for Maine Coast, please visit: COVID-19 – Northern Light Health or call 844-489-1822; for Blue Hill, call 374-2311.

State order testing sites, including Northern Light Health facilities, can no longer accept or process samples for people seeking pre-travel or event authorization. Due to the volume, this test is only for people with confirmed or suspected exposure. Travel and event testing is available at many paid service locations (with a much faster turnaround time) statewide, including the Northern Light Pharmacy on State Street in Bangor.
