Nancy Joyce (Keener) Hamilton died on July 26, 2022, at the age of 84. Joyce was born on January 11, 1938 in Colorado Springs, CO to Grace Avery (Polly) (Haggard) Keener and James H Keener. She attended Cripple Creek High School and graduated from the University of Wyoming in 1959 with a BA in teaching. Joyce met her boyfriend Robert B Hamilton at the University of Wyoming, and they were married on June 10, 1961, in Colorado Springs, CO. She was heavily involved as a Boy Scout leader for over 50 years, receiving the Silver Beaver Award for her service in one of the oldest continuously operating Boy Scout troops in the state; Troop 4. She has helped countless young men earn their eagle scout awards. Joyce was an independent Westerner and was a member of the PEO and the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). She was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church and had a keen interest in genealogy. Joyce Hamilton has touched many lives through her teaching, community service and as a wife, sister and mother. Her courage for life and her joyous exuberance brightened the life around her. Once her lover, her husband Bob died, Joyce decided to follow him the next day. Joyce is survived by her younger sister, Avery Ann (Keener) Bursar and her younger brother, James Oliver Broady Keener, her son Robert J Hamilton (Michelle Amiot), her daughter Anna J Hamilton and five grandchildren. Services will be held Saturday, August 13 at First Presbyterian Church in Ogden at 1:00 p.m. The funeral service will follow immediately at Washington Heights Cemetery. The celebration of life for Joyce and Bob will begin at 3:00 p.m. at FPC in Ogden, organized by the women’s group.
