IIM-Calcutta Wins First Place in Business School Survey

The Indian Institute of Management-Calcutta (IIM-C) won first place in the 2021 edition of the Business Today-MDRA Best B-school survey. The survey saw the participation of 305 record institutes in an exercise that lasted more than three months.

Last year’s first IIM-Ahmedabad (IIMA) dominated three of the five main parameters this time – learning experience, life experience and selection process, governance and establishment, while IIM-C dominated the two more – investment performance and future direction, according to a statement.

It was IIM-C’s big score in the future direction that ultimately helped him topple the perennial favorite for the first time. In a tight contest, IIM-C edged out IIM-A by just 0, 1 point, “he said.

The third, fourth and fifth row were bagged by IIM-Bangalore, IIM-Lucknow and SPJIMR (SP Jain Institute of Management and Research) from Mumbai.

In addition to the main ranking of institutes, the survey mentions the rankings of schools according to each primary parameter, cities, zones and return on investment. Separate rankings of private and government institutions have also been published.

“The other big trend in business education this year is the distinct footprint of the pandemic (COVID-19) on business education,” the statement said.

“As industries and companies have turned overwhelmingly to digital methods of doing business, B schools have had to correct their courses and add modules on artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML) and other digital technologies to their MBA courses, ”he said. noted.
