The Lagos State Chief of Staff, Mr. Hakeem Muri-Okunola has urged the staff members of the Lagos State Universal Basic Education Council to show the highest sense of commitment in their functions.
The HoS made the call in a statement on Monday, saying the government was committed to expanding basic education in the state.
Muri-Okunola, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary of Education District II, Ms. Anike Adekanye, reportedly said this during an awards ceremony to honor outstanding members of teaching and non-teaching staff at Ikeja.
He said: “The essence of this gathering is to recognize those who have served the state diligently and conscientiously in the past. I would like to congratulate the winners and urge them not to rest on their oars but to continue to demonstrate a strong sense of responsibility, commitment and unwavering loyalty in the performance of their duties. .
“I highly appreciate Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for his unwavering commitment to employee motivation, well-being and welfare and I also commend LASUBEB for his giant strides towards the development of basic education in the state.”
The Executive Chairman of LASUBEB, Mr. Wahab Alawiye-King explained that the council will continue to improve the level of education by appreciating the efforts of state workers.
“We are here to recognize, appreciate, commend and encourage these staff from Council Headquarters, Local Government Education Authority and Primary Schools and encourage them to continue to do their best,” he said. .
