Federal Poly Bida seeks accreditation for 37 programs

The Rector of the Federal Polytechnic in Bida, Niger State, Dr. Abubakar Dzukogi, said the institution has done what is necessary to ensure the success of the ongoing accreditation of 37 programs in the institution. .

Speaking at a plenary session with more than 100 National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) resource persons and officials, the Rector said adequate facilities needed for re-accreditation were available.

He therefore asked the resource persons who went to the polytechnic for re-accreditation to use their rich experience to conscientiously carry out the heavy task.
“It is a pleasure for me to commend the NBTE for putting together a team of seasoned intellectuals for this exercise while ensuring that we are adequate as we cannot afford to disappoint you,” he added .
Furthermore, the director of the school’s academic planning unit, Dr Fashagba Paul Femi, said the re-accreditation exercise will strengthen the academic standards of the institution and position it for better performance through better resources.

For his part, NBTE Team Leader Dr. Rufai Ibrahim said, “The exercise is a quality assurance exercise where experts from various fields are brought together to assess the standard of teaching facilities and learning available in the institution”.

Also speaking, NBTE Zone Director, North Central, Mallam Salim Salihu, described the re-accreditation exercise as a necessary mechanism to improve the standard and quality of resources required for teaching processes and efficient and effective learning.
