Coming soon quality digital content for UP govt elementary and primary students


Now, two million children studying in schools under the Basic Education Board of Uttar Pradesh will benefit from better digital study content. By order of the state government, the State Institute of Science Education (SISE) based in Sangam, Uttar Pradesh will soon enter into a partnership by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with reputable technical and educational institutions for develop quality digital content. , senior Ministry of Education officials said.

“These institutions include the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Gandhinagar, Madan Mohan Malaviya University of Technology, Gorakhpur, and the US-based Khan Academy,” they added. The move will help about 5.5 lakh of the teachers in more than 1.5 lakh primary and upper primary schools in the state to better teach and educate about 2 million children enrolled in these institutions, the officials said.

“The plan was discussed in detail at a meeting of SCERT and all units held in Lucknow and chaired by the Director General of School Education, Vijay Kiran Anand on June 19, 2022 and following which instructions Formal formalities for the effective implementation of the decisions taken in the meeting were issued on June 28, 2022,” the officials said.

Director General of School Education, Vijay Kiran Anand, said, “We have asked SISE to prepare digital content in partnership with well-known technical and educational institutions, as we want to provide the highest quality of education at primary and upper classes UP”.

The missive, a copy of which is with HT, instructed Director, SISE, UP, Anil Bhushan Chaturvedi to finalize a plan for the mission and submit it to the “Samagra Shiksha” State Project Office.

SISE, UP officials will visit these institutions and, with their help, develop a science kit and laboratory for the Basic Education Council schools. They will also form a plan with these institutions to develop quality digital content.

“The plan is also to organize exposure visits for students from government-run primary and upper primary schools to renowned educational institutions nearby and learn by doing projects in addition to awarding scholarships. to deserving students for whom SISE, UP has also been asked to send a missive outlining the details so that a government order can be issued in this regard,” the officials said.

While IIT, Gandhinagar and Madan Mohan Malaviya University of Technology, Gorakhpur are well-known Indian technical institutes, Khan Academy is an American non-profit educational organization established in 2008 by a certain Salman Khan. Khan Academy’s goal is to create a set of online tools that help educate students.

The organization produces short lessons in the form of videos. Its website also includes additional practice exercises and materials for educators. It has produced over 8,000 video lessons teaching a wide range of academic subjects originally focused on math and science. All resources are freely available to website and app users.
